Fourth Quarter Notes

Mustangs worked hard this week and have finished MAP testing. We are returning to our regular routines and schedule.

COMING UP - Over the next two weeks we will be finishing up our science fiction / fantasy unit. Students will be writing short stories and beginning a new novel. Please watch for a reading calendar to come home. We will continue to journal and practice sentence mechanics, word usage, grammar, and punctuation. We will spend a few days on advertising propaganda and the techniques used by advertisers.

STUDY ISLAND - SI assignments are due Wednesday, April 14 This is an extension. Students can work on Study Island from home or attend Learning Lab on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons to complete their assignments. Students who do not have computer access at home can request a packet from me or use the public library to work on their assignments. Students have been given instructions how to log on from home or the library

HOME LEARNING - Students will have home learning most days either reading and writing in their journals or completing practice exercises. Please check Saeger's website under "Homework" for your child's assignments.

VIEW YOUR CHILD'S GRADES ONLINE - If you do not have a Parent Internet Viewer account (where you can access your child's grades), please contact Marie Haupt at 851-5470 for directions. She will be happy to help you set up your account.

CONFERENCES - If you were unable to attend or meet with me during conferences and would like to have a phone conference or meet for a conference, please contact me by sending a note with your child, calling at 636-851-5798, or sending me an e-mail at rene.killpack@fhsdchools.org and we will set up a time to conference.

END of the YEAR ACTIVITIES - Lastly, we are nearing the end of the school year and have some special end-of-the year activities planned for our seventh graders. Students have been reminded that behavior (in all settings and at all times) and responsibility for their academics are a requirement for attendance. In addition, students owing fines for library books or other lost or damaged materials must have those fines paid before attending these activities.
